Training of public service professionals who work with persons with disabilities

The willingness and training of public service professionals to perform their work in a non-discriminatory manner for persons with disabilities to provide access to public services for these persons and ensure their full inclusion in society is a very important part of the process on the verge of deinstitutionalization.

Several professionals from key institutions in Demir Kapija: the municipality, schools, kindergartens, medical persons, the cultural center and other social services in the city, have strengthened their capacities for greater mutual cooperation and networking to include persons with disabilities in the creation and delivery of social services in the community.

Participants shared that for them this is the first training of its kind, which gave them new ideas on how and what joint activities they can organize with different community actors to include people with disabilities in their daily lives.
